I created this desert for the non-European arts competition at the Barony of Marinus Investiture, 2/10/2024. This was an interesting process that I wasn't quite expecting. The consistency of the cake is more like an English pudding than what we typically think of as a cake. The cake itself is sweet, but not as sweet as you would think due to the dark honey. Adding the date syrup makes it very sweet. A small amount is all you need.
There are multiple variations of this cake that include pan frying and baking, but the most common is just to cook the dough and let it cool then form it into shape. Since all we have are hieroglyphics, it is hard to say what preparation may actually have been done, especially if the cake is to be served standing upright as a cone.
