2025 Recap

I did a lot this year. Starting strong, I was the Event Steward for 12th Night in January. That event held a few of my favorite moments of this year, including this one. It was an absolutely silly conversation in hushed tones in the middle of court with Her Majesty.

In February I taught my redaction class at Winter University. Andrei went to Celebration - Babur and fought.

In March, we made the trek down to Raleigh to go to KASF and up to Spotsy for Defending the Gate.

In April, it was Coronation in Powhatan and a few demos.

May brought us to Return to Sherwood (Tir-y-Don 50th) and Gem Joust.

June held an amazing Summer University in Marinus. There's a separate post on that.

July was all about Pennsic. Andrei went both weeks. I flew up for War Week. The weather was perfect and it was overall relaxing.

August had Neppie Wars, where I was MiC.

September we made our way to Battle on the Bay and Steirbach Baronial Birthday. I developed a new class and taught in-person at Fall University. We also had a demo.

October was a busy month! The first weekend was Newport New Fall Festival Demo which is always fun and busy. Bonus they give the barony a small amount of funds for participating! The next week was Emerald Hastilude IV where Andrei helped with setup on Friday. On Sunday he went to a gaming demo at BurgQuest in Williamsburg. This was a small panel on a medieval gaming that he put on along with Llwyd, Kaleeb, and Yrsa. The next weekend was War of the Wings. We capped the month with Halloween.

Not to be outdone, November started right away with Goblin Games on the first, then Fall Crown where I spent all day in the kitchen, moving right along to a demo at Bacon's Castle and ending with Holiday Faire in Fredericksburg. In between, I also taught my new Street Food class at West Coast Culinary Symposium's Virtual Session. WCCS featured a keynote talk by Max Miller, which was amazing!

December of course was Unevent. This was followed by missing the Baronial Holiday Party because I was on a plane to see my family in San Diego. Per baronial tradition of three years, the party was hosted by Lady Jane, the most recent person to buy a new house in the barony.

At the end of the year I have a few spaces not quite filled out. I made four blog posts, not five. My fabric stash got mostly organized and then unorganized when Andrei went to look for something. I have started learning a new art, but I don't feel I am sufficiently far enough in the process to say I've "learned" it. I would say I possess the tools to start trying. I entered 2 A&S contests, one short of my goal of 3.

I'll start working on a 2026 board soon. Maybe I'll be able to check off everything next Jan 1.
